BUILDING GREEN: OVERCOMING BARRIERS

The Pennsylvania Environmental Council (PEC) released a new report, Building Green: Overcoming Barriers in Philadelphia, that identifies obstacles to green building in Philadelphia and recommends solutions to dissolving those barriers.

The report received the approval from Mayor Nutter, who spoke at the report's release event, as well as from private developers, labor representatives and environmentalists.

You can ready The Inquirer article on the report here and read the entire report on the PEC website.

PHILLY SPRING CLEANUP

On April 5th, Mayor Nutter will fulfill his campaign committment to cleaning up the City by holding a citywide "Philly Spring Cleanup". The cleanup aims to engage 10,000 people in removing 1 million pounds of litter and trash from the streets.
