NEW MASTER PLAN FOR THE FUTURE OF THE DELAWARE RIVERFRONT RELEASED |

After numerous community meetings and complex design work, the Delaware River Waterfront Corporation (DRWC) has released a plan to recreate the riverfront with an extensive new system of parks, trails and mixed-use development. The plans call for a 20 year project to make the Delaware riverfront a world-class public space. |

CITY COUNCIL HOLDS FIRST ZONING CODE REFORM HEARINGS |

Zoning code reform is moving forward in Philadelphia. The first City Council hearing on a new zoning code, developed by the Zoning Code Commission (ZCC), was held on Wednesday, June 15 at City Hall. The testimony from citizens and ZCC members lasted over two hours. A majority of those testifying spoke in favor of implementing the new code. At the end of the hearing, the issue was adjourned until fall. Groups in favor of zoning reform, including Next Great City, will continue working to encourage City Council to adopt the new code by the end of the calendar year. |
